Earlier in July 2013, Sony released their Sony Xperia Z Ultra phablet in China and today the device launches in India.
The Sony Xperia Z Ultra device will be the first of its kind in many ways. Here is a brief review.
Five Unique Features of Sony Xperia Z Ultra
The Sony Xperia Z Ultra will be known for these five unique features –
1. Phone Display –
It is the first Android Smartphone in the world with 6.4” full HD display. It also has TRILUMINOUS display with X-Reality, the first Android Smartphone to have this feature, again.
2. Waterproof –
We all know that other Smartphones manufactured by Sony are surely waterproof (Xperia Z and Xperia Z tablet) but the Sony Xperia Z Ultra is unique because it can remain waterproof for up to 1.5 meters and can remain immersed in water for full 30 minutes, and remain in perfect working order. It also comes with IP55 and IP58 certification.
3. No Dust Accumulation –
This is another feather in the cap! Not only is Sony Xperia Z Ultra weatherproof but it is made of glass fiber polyamide which makes the frame of the phablet completely dust resistant. The front and the back panels are coated with anti-scratch film and the panels are constructed with durable tempered glass, making the device resistant to dust.
4. Slimmest of them All!
The Sony Xperia Z Ultra is also the first Full HD Slimmest Smartphone in the world. According to media release by Sony, they eliminated a layer of air which made the lens and display closer, smaller in size and added touch sensitivity. The addition of skeleton frame and a new component layout make it the slimmest of them all. It weighs just 212 grams.
5. Any Stylus will do!
The user can use any stylus on the Sony Xperia Z Ultra as long as the tip of the stylus is 1 mm thick. Sony has done away with the use of regular stylus and has brought back the good old pencil in fashion!
