The smartphone market is crammed with manufacturers who promise to give you something different. Innovation driven and highly competitive, this market has seen enormous growth in the last few years as more and more people convert to the smartphone cult. And just when you think the market does not have room for another player, something new shows up on your radar screen.
The latest phone to hit the market is from the Indian hardware company, iBall. iBall is popular for its mice, speakers and scanners and is a leading player in the peripherals market. It has released phones in the past including flip phones and waterproof models. A new phone from its stables should be interesting, to say the least. Called the iBall Andi 5c, this smartphone is an upgraded version of its predecessors of the Andi family. The Andi phones have already created waves for their design and function and the 5c seems to be no exception to this rule.
The iBall Andi 5c is a dual sim (GSM) phone. This has always been a hit in certain markets and helps combine work and home, in some cases. The phone is powered by the Ice cream Sandwich operating system which is the Android 4.1 version. That in itself is great but there’s more- the processor is an A9, 1 GhzCortex and everything runs on an mAh 2300 battery. It gets better- the phone comes with light and proximity sensors and an accelerometer, or G-sensor, to give you various views on your phone’s screen.
We should discuss the camera too. At 5 megapixels, it comes loaded with lots of picture options like auto focus, LED flash and panorama (for all those nature trips) and multiple shots to show sequence in frames. With this technology, you can take a series of pictures and put them all together as one gorgeous photograph. You also get an editor for all those touch ups and eliminating red-eye.
The iBall Andi 5c has GPS and close to 7.2 Mbps and 5.7 HSUPA speeds to go with its 3G. Talking of 3G, the front facing camera that the phone comes with makes for great video calling. Apart from 3G, the phone also has Wi-Fi and HSDPA. Ifyou are a gamer, you will appreciate this phone because its technology coupled with a long battery life ensures that the fun never stops. Games become more fun with superior graphics and speed that makes multi-functions so much better.
The phone is sleek, good looking and sports a large 5” screen and the screen can be programmed to unlock to facial recognition. Perhaps the best part of the phone is how inexpensive it is. Seeing how many features it brings, the price, like they say, is a surprise.
But it may not be smooth sailing for the iBall Andi 5c. There are other equally good players on the market like the Wicked Leak Wammy Note and the Micromax A100. The phones have almost similar specs and are priced around the range of the iBall. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for all three and the other players in the market.
The new phone from the house of iBall combines functionality and good looks at a reasonable price. If you’re looking for an efficient smartphone that doesn’t cost the earth, you should seriously consider giving the iBall Andi 5c a shot.
